Do You Need to Lose Weight ?



Each day in the United States, millions of Americans say to themselves I need to lose weight. This is nowadays also true for so many countries around the world. Are you one of those persons? While most of the individuals who tell themselves that they need to lose weight do really need to lose weight, not all do. So, the question that you should ask yourself is: do I really need to lose weight?? If that is a question that you have asked yourself before, you will want to continue reading on.

One of the many signs that you may need to lose weight is if you are obese. Many persons do not know that there is a difference between being overweight and being obese. While different healthcarers define being obese differently, it is often said that those who are 30 or 40 pounds overweight are obese, or if your BMI is more than 30 then you fall in the obese category, a BMI of 25-30 is said to be overweight. If you are obese, you should worry about your health in the first place not only be worried about your appearance. Obesity has been linked to many health complications, including diabetes, cardivascular diseases and early death.

A very Obvious indicator that you should lose weight is if someone says that you need to lose weight. Maybe your physician recommended losing weight or if someone that you know on a personal level has, it is advised that you at least take their note into consideration. Unfortunately, many individuals feel embarrassed or become upset when they are told that they need to lose weight. You need to remember that the friend mentioning your weight to you likely are concerned with your health rather than your appearance.

Another sign that you may want to think about losing weight is if you find that your clothes no longer fit you. Of course, it is normal for some individuals to gain weight or to have their weight change slightly, but you may want to think about joining a weight loss program or developing your own weight loss plan if you find that your clothes no longer fit or are difficult to get into. Unfortunately, many individuals do not just have a small weight gain. Small weight gain often leads to more, which could have a negative impact on your health. It is also important to mention the cost of new clothes, which you may not be able to afford.

If you find many simple tasks or activities, like walking up a flight of stairs, or running few hundred feets difficult, you may want to think about losing weight. Of course, becoming out of breath from simple activities may not necessarily just be a weight problem, but there is a good chance that it is. When you lose weight, even just a little bit of it, you will likely find it easier to do many of the activities that you love or even the tasks that you need to do, like taking a bike ride, having a long walk around or playing your favorite sports.

If you have joint pain, it might be due to the extra few pounds, most commonly your back and knees will hurt you and your movement might start to be restricted, also if you feel tired quickly and you snore at night it might be a sign that you need to lose weight.

Weight gain above the hips ( giving the apple body shape ) and big abdomen are also signs you need to start thinking of losing weight.



It is also wise to look into your personal history of weight gain over time and the family history of weight related health issues including diabetes, heart problems and blood pressure.
